The Schilling Group Story

Our Story

The Schilling Group was originally established as Performance Concrete Polishing in 2006. After over a decade and a half of satisfied customers and countless completed concrete polishing and coating jobs, the business has now evolved into the Schilling Group. This new identity aims to emphasize our ever-expanding line of services and the importance of being a family-owned and operated business. Currently, the Schilling Group is owned and run by five family members.

The Schilling Group was originally conceived and operated by McKinley and Richard Schilling, western Iowa natives who were raised on a farm. McKinley attended Iowa State University and developed backgrounds in business and construction. Richard enjoyed a 30-year career in the military, followed by a short career as a business consultant. Together, the Schilling brothers enjoy a reputation for prompt service and high-quality results. As the company has grown, other family members have joined and continue the tradition of delivering the highest-quality concrete and terrazzo services to commercial and residential customers across Iowa and beyond.

Environmentally Friendly

Mechanically polished concrete and terrazzo floors contain no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). They are actually LEED Certified, and a green choice for the flooring in your building.

Permanently Polished Concrete

Mechanical polishing utilizes specialized grinders. Progressively finer diamond impregnated bits that gradually close the micro pores of the concrete surface. The final product is an extremely durable high gloss surface. Dyes, artwork, engraving can be included during this process.

Aesthetics

Mechanically polished concrete and terrazzo floors are striking. Whether dyed or left uncolored each polished floor is unique and beautiful. Even old floors shimmer and are extremely attractive when mechanically polished. Add more interest to your floor by incorporating colors, logos, artwork, engraving, etc. into the floor.
